LATE FRIENDSHIP WEEKLY:

Although this past week was spring break, I was able to start looking into some film festivals that I may want to submit to. I found some helpful links to make searching easier such as (http://voices.yahoo.com/7-great-film-festivals-attend-north-carolina-200357.html) for some North Carolina Festivals and (http://filmcontests.reelshowint.com/student-film-festival-international-directory-2014/) for international and national festivals. The latter has been very helpful because you can just scroll down the page and it has basic information about the festival already consolidated such as entry fees, when the festival takes place and what the deadlines are. It also includes the link so you can get more information. Some festivals I think I will definitely go for without much thought include: Twin Rivers Multimedia Festival in Asheville, SkyFest Film Festival in Alexander, and obviously Cucalorus and Visions. I’m still doing research on what out of state festivals are appealing based on when they are held, what the competition looks like and how much the entry fees are. Some websites are difficult to find information on entering such as RiverRun International Film Festival in Winston Salem but I might just have to do more digging. As far as editing goes, I was out of the country almost the entire break, but I have started working on the corrections and suggestions that the classmates had for my 5 minute edit and am playing around with how that effects the feel of the scene (such as taking out the “he said steal a woman’s purse?!” line out and having the characters keep a dead face). I think I need to stop playing and keep moving on to my rough cut so though since we’re running out of time though!
